Ingredients

  • 16 ounces ribeye steak
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon avocado oil You can substitute any high smoke point oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  • Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.
  • Pat dry the steaks using a paper towel to remove excess moisture. You do this to make sure that the ingredients you'll be using to season the ribeye steaks actually stick.
  • Rub both sides of the steaks with avocado oil, ensuring they are evenly coated.
  • Sprinkle the garlic powder, salt, and black pepper over the steaks, gently pressing it into the meat to adhere.
  • Cook the steaks in the air fryer for the following times, based on your desired doneness:
    6-8 minutes for medium-rare
    8-10 minutes for medium
    10-12 minutes for well-done.
  • Set a timer so that you flip them halfway through the cooking time.
  • Check the doneness of the steaks using a meat thermometer to ensure they reach your preferred level of doneness.
  • Once the steaks are cooked to your desired doneness, remove them from the air fryer and let them rest for a few minutes before slicing.
  • Slice the steaks against the grain into thin strips. Serve with your favorite sides.

Notes

  • Cooking times may vary depending on the thickness of your steaks and the model of your air fryer. Adjust accordingly.
  • You can substitute any high smoke point oil if you don't have, like or want to use avocado oil
  • Also, let the steaks come to room temperature before slicing. This will allow them to cook evenly throughout.
  • Finally, feel free to add additional seasonings or herbs according to your taste preferences.
