Everyone loves alfredo and this Copycat Olive Garden Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo is such a delicious, quick and easy dinner. It features seasoned chicken that you serve on top of fettuccine noodles. Everything is tossed with a luscious alfredo sauce.
Serve it with a breadstick and you will have a restaurant quality dinner right at home. The longest part of this recipe is waiting for the pasta to boil. Even so, you can get this meal prepped and on the table in 30 minutes.
Finally, after mastering this recipe, I know that people would love to have a Crock Pot slow cooker version. Stay tuned — I’m working on that and will share a link to that new recipe as soon as it is ready.
Ingredients Overview
Step-by-Step Instructions
Season your chicken with the garlic salt, onion powder, Italian seasoning and black pepper — shown in the ingredients photo as mixed seasonings. Place your chicken in a skillet over medium heat for 5-7 minutes on each side, depending on how thick your chicken breasts are. You want the chicken cooked through to 165 degrees. Set the chicken aside.
Bring a large pot of water to a boil and cook your noodles to al dente, drain and set aside. In another large skillet add the butter, heavy cream and garlic.
Bring up to a bubble over medium heat. Add parmesan cheese to the sauce. Let simmer another 5 minutes until slightly thickened.
Add cooked noodles to the sauce and toss to coat.
Slice the chicken breasts. Plate the noodles and top with the chicken and a little parsley for color.
Tips and Tricks
This recipe calls for fettuccine. However, any Italian noodle will do.
You can double the sauce recipe to have some to dip your breadsticks in. Or use the sauce on our no-rise pizza dough recipe so you can make a white pizza.
Finally, you can omit the chicken and have a fabulous meat-free dish of fettuccine alfredo.
