Slow Cooker Cherry Pineapple Dump Cake

This Slow Cooker Cherry Pineapple Dump Cake is going to be your go-to dessert all year long. It is so easy to make that you won't believe it until you try it. With just four ingredients, you're using a boxed cake mix, canned crushed pineapple, cherry pie filling and butter that you dump in your slow cooker and that's it.
The delicious crushed pineapple and sweet tart cherries get topped with a butter cake layer that slow cooks to perfection! No need to heat up your oven and heat up your kitchen this summer when you want to make the perfect, easy dessert. Top with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or homemade whipped cream.

  • 20 ounces crushed pineapple one large can, do not drain
  • 21 ounces cherry pie filling one large can
  • 15.25 ounces pineapple cake mix or one box
  • 1 cup butter sliced

Instructions
 

  • Spray your slow cooker with non-stick spray.
  • Add to your slow cooker Crock Pot the crushed pineapple, with the juice, then pour over the cherry pie filling.
  • Sprinkle the top of the fruit with the dry cake mix making sure to completely cover the fruit filling.
  • Place your butter slices all over the top.
  • Cover and cook on high for 2 hours.
  • Check the middle of the cake with a toothpick to ensure it is done.
  • Cool slightly and serve!

Notes

This recipe calls for pineapple flavored cake mix. Both Duncan Hines and Pillsbury have pineapple cake mix. Where I live, only Walmart had this flavor of cake mix. Target did not.
If you can't find the flavor at a store near you, you can easily substitute white cake mix, yellow cake mix or vanilla cake mix. Given how much crushed pineapple you're using, plus the juice from the can, you'll get enough pineapple flavor throughout the cake regardless of the cake mix flavor you use.
