Air Fryer Corn on the Cob

When it comes to cooking corn on the cob, I never considered making it in the air fryer. On the grill? Sure. In the microwave? You bet. Stovetop? Of course. But now that I've tried this method, I may never cook corn another way.

  • 4 ears of corn
  • 4 tablespoons butter, unsalted
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions
 

  • Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray.
  • Preheat your air fryer to 390°F (200°C) for about 3-5 minutes.
  • Husk each ear of corn and clean out as much silk as you can.
  • Put each ear of corn on a piece of aluminum foil large enough to wrap it completely.
  • Place one tablespoon each of butter on each ear of corn.
  • Sprinkle each ear of corn with salt, dividing it evenly among them.
  • Wrap each ear of corn tightly in the aluminum foil.
  • Place the wrapped corn in the air fryer basket, arranging them in a single layer.
  • Cook in the air fryer at 390°F (200°C) for 10 minutes.
  • After 10 minutes, carefully unwrap the corn and return them to the air fryer basket.
  • Cook uncovered for an additional 3 minutes to allow the corn to develop a slight char and enhance the flavor.
  • Once cooked, remove the sweetcorn from the air fryer and serve hot.

Notes

This recipe calls for unsalted butter but you can use salted if that's all you have. Just keep in mind that you should adjust the added salt accordingly to avoid overseasoning or making your corn too salty.
Why did I wrap the corn in aluminum foil? It helps to keep the corn moist and prevents it from drying out during cooking. So, you can cook the corn directly in the air fryer basket but it might not be as juicy as ears you wrap in foil.
I like my corn butter and salty. However, of course you can season it as you'd like. Feel free to sprinkled garlic powder, smoked paprika or freshly ground black pepper on your corn. Another option: Old Bay Seasoning.
